Parents Advocating Collectively for KIN- PACK
Constitution
The name of the society is: Parents Advocating Collectively for Kin Society (Also known as PACK).
The purposes of the society are:
1. To survive and resist the War on Drugs.
(a)To celebrate the strengths we have as a community of individuals who use/or have used substances (PWUS)
(b)To prioritize and defend the human rights of PWUS
(c)To realize, deepen and share the love, camaraderie and wisdom found within the community of (PWUS)
(d) To create a legacy of change for future PWUS.
2. To recognize and address the gender-based violence that influences drug laws and policies.
(a)To amplify the voices of women and gender-diverse PWUS with focus on inclusion and intersectional social justice.
(b)To develop, implement and promote current, evidence-based resources that will ensure safe and equitable service provision for women and gender-diverse PWUS and their families.
(c)To facilitate stigma and judgment free support for mothers and gender-diverse PWUS from those with lived experience.
(d) To encourage capacity building opportunities by ensuring engagement with PWUS across British Columbia.
3.To highlight the racially biased injustices that disproportionately impact and harm BIPOC families and communities.
(a)To strive for the decolonization of harm reduction standards and practices and promote Indigenous leadership in related fields.
4. To invest in solidarity with allied stakeholders and comrades by supporting coalition and network building with those invested in fighting for justice.

PACK is a peer and Indigenous led organization that is dedicated to improving life for mothers and birthing parents who are or have been substance users in British Columbia and beyond. We strive to fight the inequality and violence that currently looms over our families and peers while we help to amplify the voices of women and gender diverse individuals with lived and living experience who face the lateral and direct harms of the family policing in the name of child protection.
